About Sarah Summers

Sarah Summers is a Los Angeles based songwriter and visual & performing artist. Raised in Sonoma Valley, California, Summers began the development of her solo work in tandem to her collaboration with Sean Carscadden, Marty O'Reilly, and Andy Saks on their 2012 Blues/Americana project Broke the Moon. Two years later, Summers began her studies at UCLA in the Department of World Arts and Cultures / Dance, where she has since participated in UCLA's WACsmash'D, Spring Sing, Jazz Reggae Festival, and Kerkhoff Coffee House Series, often performing with Los Angeles folk/pop band The Street Hearts. Marrying the influences of modern folk artists Johnny Flynn, Laura Marling, The Tallest Man on Earth, and The Wood Brothers with the blues of Sister Rosetta Tharpe and John Vandiver, Summers’ lyrics reminisce of small town life and the stories untold within it. Her debut album Lovely Little Things, on Delta Bound Records’ label, was released at the Sebastiani Theater on March 24, 2014.
