Kimiko is a Midwestern gal from Detroit Lakes, MN. Growing up in a small town, she discovered her love for songwriting quickly when she found herself writing poetry during math class. It wasn’t until she debuted one of her early original songs in a local talent show that she found herself suddenly ensnared by music. She began performing in a blues band in high school upon moving to Hot Springs, AR.This only built upon her newfound music obsession and her own bluesy-pop style. Kimiko later went on to perform the International Blues Challenge competition on Beale St. After high school, Kimiko came to Nashville, TN, to earn a degree in the Music Business program at Belmont University. In Nashville, she developed herself as an artist and also grew her own knowledge of the workings of the music industry through various internships and industry positions.
