FXWRK is from Brooklyn, NY. She was studying sociology at Wesleyan University but left recently to do other shit, mostly music. Other than that she is all about social justice and activism and blogs a lot when she isn't making beats in her bedroom. For FXWRK, production is an organic, experimental process of self discovery. She's kind of quiet in person but has found that music is her truest voice. She thinks it would be dope to be a huge black girl producer and DJ. (Without forgetting to include meaningful, subversive content in her work one day. She wants to bridge a creative gap between the indie electronic music you love, activism and youth culture, and wonders about innovative new ways to combine the three seamlessly in the future. But until then, she's putting in work on this laptop, channeling emotions into sound.)
