Artist's notes

Manipulation. Each and every interaction we have is with the supposition that the outcome will benefit ourselves, whether this result also benefits or even harms the other. This is the foundational idea behind Khamsin's new record "I've Only Been A Thief", released with More Than Me Records. Personified through the metaphor of a thief, the listener explores the possibility of purity and selflessness by giving up one's stolen goods: our possessions, self-righteous ambition, etc. After starting as an instrumental solo project, Khamsin soon expanded into a full band and began writing more music and playing shows. With this new EP, however, they are a few steps ahead of their last release "There Is A Place." Within, Khamsin explores new musical territory with an extended use of vocals, from guitarist Jacob Curry, which were nearly absent on the previous record. He, along with fellow guitarist Josh Groppel, create a dense atmosphere of arpeggiated riffs and swells, guiding the mood of the r
