(While I understand that artists don't usually write their own bios, I feel like the Mellodi is an appropriate place to break that status quo). I'm Emma. I'm a Nashville-dwelling, California-native singer-songwriter. I'm a full-time college student, part-time grant writer, side-line blogger, and born musician. Style wise, 15 years of classical violin training and many summers of fiddle camp have added a notable folk sound to my songs. I am often compared to artists like Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Mumford & Sons, Gabrielle Aplin, Ed Sheeran, and the Fray. My compositions are chock-full of charming melodies, witty wordplay, whimsical instrumentation, and rhythm-driven piano and guitar. And I am so grateful to share my love of music with you. When I write songs, I write them with YOU in mind. I call this "first-person fiction." I hope you find that the lyrics and melodies from my head match the experiences from your life and the wordless feelings in your heart.
